Colors: Navy Blue, Fuschia

Inspiration: The Royal Wedding

Theme: A Royal Affair

We opted for a royal themed table with a modern accents. Traditional colors of royal blue and gold combined with bright fuschia florals created a modern day royal affair. Light pink Tulips, blue Hydrangea, Yves Piaget Garden Roses, and bright pink Kiko Roses completed our contemporary artfully arranged centerpiece, created by Artful Blooms. Single Cymbidium Orchids surrounded the arrangement and were placed on each setting. Floating candles and tealights added a romantic touch. An “&” symbol tied together the Bride and Groom’s chairs. Wildflower Linen books and Invitation samples were set out for newly engaged brides to browse through. We had a great time meeting every one and hope you all enjoyed the show!

Mollie and Brandon’s gorgeous garden wedding took place in the Secret Garden at the Indiana Memorial Union in Bloomington, Indiana, with the reception following in Alumni Hall. Some of our favorite details included the fragrant seeded eucalyptus garlands draped over the ceremony chairs (which were later placed on the head table!), the gorgeous multi-shaded vibrant orange roses, and the unique guest book table. This table included an antique typewriter and library card catalog where guest could leave “advice,” “well wishes,” and “warnings” in the labeled drawers. We especially loved the bride and groom’s chairs, which were joined together by a single eucalyptus garland decorated with more orange roses. No detail was forgotten!

Mollie, we loved you and your family’s Texas southern charm! We had so much fun working with you guys!

Jeanne and Josh, college sweethearts, returned to Indiana University’s Bloomington campus for their wedding. Their simple and elegant ceremony took place at St. Paul’s Catholic Church where floral arrangements decorated the altar. Following the ceremony, guests made their way to the IMU for the beautiful reception. Each table was decorated with navy linens, gold chiavari chairs, and a variety of uniquely stunning centerpieces including flowers and candelabras. The head table had and additional gold overlay with centerpieces from end to end. An extravagant ribbon chandelier, created by the Social Butterfly team, also hung in the center of Alumni Hall, and was the perfect finishing touch to the reception’s décor. While everyone enjoyed such gorgeous décor, guests also enjoyed a delicious meal followed by a night filled with good music and dancing. Family and friends ended their evening by leaving pictures and notes at the photo booth. Thank you Erin Hession Photography for these great pictures of the evening!

This Victorian Garden Wedding Inspiration Shoot is a collaboration between Social Butterfly, Artful Blooms florist, and Eric Rudd photography.  As local wedding vendors and residents, we feel that Bloomington, Indiana is a hidden gem in the Midwest so, naturally, it was the ideal setting for our Victorian Garden inspiration shoot. We endeavored to showcase the natural beauty of the setting and to demonstrate our hometown pride, while showing brides that it is a desirable location for their special day!

Our table design was inspired by a piece of antique china that I recently inherited. We loved the combination of antique charm and garden elegance, so we incorporated other antique elements such as the gold painted table lamp that held up our centerpiece. The centerpiece was composed of Yves Piaget dark pink garden roses, cream hydrangea and hanging green amaranth.

To balance out the antique pieces we used several small blue vases to add a pop of color: the glass highlighted the vibrant turquoise hues in our china and contrasted flawlessly with the white and gold palate of the table! The perfect finish to our Victorian Garden look was our two unique and coordinating chair covers: one, a more traditional floor length cover with enchanting white flowers, the other, chic and modern, adorned with floral rosettes.

The sweets table boasted a beautiful backdrop of white yucca blossoms hanging from an inviting shade tree, which were grown on-site in our host’s garden. This table had an assortment of desserts that included cupcakes decorated with adorable hearts, scones, and a tasty lemon meringue pie.  To wash down all these scrumptious treats were carafe’s filled with 2 different types of lemonade with berries, mint leaves, and extra lemons for garnishing. To add a final bit of flare to this delightful table, a banner was hung over the pale pink linen that read: Sweet Love.

The bride’s bouquet was composed of exquisite Yves Piaget dark pink garden roses, hot pink garden spray roses, blood red amaranth, and Queen Anne’s lace which impeccably complimented her short ivory dress.  She and the groom, sporting a coordinating airy linen suit, shared an intimate moment when the groom took part of a leaf from the garden to make a band for his bride.

We had so much fun designing this shoot and hope our vision has shown the natural beauty that can be found in Indiana, while inspiring a new vision for Midwest brides.

Venue: Paoli Community Center

Colors: Dusty Rose, Taupe

Inspiration: Vintage elegance

The Social Butterfly team kicked off their season with Candace Cook and Dwight Cline’s gorgeous vintage inspired wedding in Paoli, IN. Guests enjoyed an intimate ceremony, as the church was lit only by the candelabras lining the aisle and dramatic pink lighting on the alter, which was covered by drapery. The reception included more pink lighting, beautiful chandeliers, and elaborate, tall centerpieces complementing the bridal bouquets. The couple also featured upcoming trends such as the all-white dance floor with their names projected onto it.  This fun, small town wedding perfectly expressed the couple’s personality and a great time was had by all!
