Amanda and Nick’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream Wedding was truly a dream! We started the planning process with the brides mom, Britta, a mere 3 months before the wedding. After finding out Nick would be deployed in a few months and having just moved to town from the West Coast, she hired us to help her find a venue and other vendors who would fit their Midsummer Night’s theme perfectly. The Abe Martin Lodge (Allison Peabody Room) was chosen because it encompassed the woodland feel we were looking for and the room was the perfect size for the intimate affair.

During our design meeting with Karen from Artful Blooms, Britta surprised us with a box of A Midsummer Nights Dream trinkets she had collected throughout the planning process and asked that they all be incorporated somehow into the design. Multiple fairies, jewels, crystals, mirrors, bird nests, and even potion bottles filled with fairy dust were in the box. It was very cool to see how the florist incorporated all of these items into the design scheme.

Keeping with the theme, the floral design was mossy, natural wild-like flowers and accents. Each table had it’s own tablescape and unique centerpiece with tiny, delicate fairies added. Florals consisted of a variety of orchids, purple kale, seeded eucalyptus, ferns and more. Vases varied from gold, bark and moss. A large wagon wheel (hanging from the ceiling) was covered with curly willow, greenery and hanging lanterns to add to the room. Potted trees were set around the room with fairy lights to add some romance. Moss taffeta table linens were placed on all guest tables with a moss shantung on the sweet heart table, all with mahogany Chiavari chairs. Britta wanted to make sure there were some girly touches, so we opted for a baby pink linen with a sheer embroidered sparkly overlay on the cake table. The reception was stunning! After guests enjoyed a delicious dinner of lamb rack, a first dance and all night karaoking followed.
